    Default Free workshop, ‘Restoring Historic Timber Buildings’

    Daughter works for the National Trust and wondered if members may be interested in the following workshop
    No such thing as a free lunch?... not only is the workshop free but Morning tea, Lunch and afternoon teas is FREE as well!


    Restoring Historic Timber Buildings’ is a Heritage Trade Skills Workshop presented by the Heritage Council of Victoria and the National Trust of Australia (Victoria).
    This project has been supported through funding from the Australian Government’s Your Community Heritage Program.

    The workshop, presented by David Young OAM, will include:
    • Wood anatomy: from heartwood comes durability
    • Wood and water: a swell topic
    • Fungal rot: decay by any other name
    • Borers
    • Dealing with termites
    • Conservation and repair

    Course presenter:
    David Young OAM, Adjunct Associate Professor at the Universities of Canberra and Melbourne, is a heritage consultant specialising in building materials conservation and has been involved in the diagnosis and repair of historic buildings and sites for over 25 years.
