Default WA Woodshow Aug 2-4 August

    Hello All
The WA wood show is on soon, 02-04 August at the Claremont Showgrounds. I always take the Friday off. No intentions of any major purchases, just little bits and bobs. Anyone else going?

    Default I too

I too was thinking of going this year....

It's been maybe 20 years since I went (Had a stand displaying solid timber furniture way back then).

The Friday sounds like a plan - try and avoid the masses and get there with all the other tradies!.

Maybe we should all get a WWF lapel button or something (T/shirt, hat, stubbie holder, Mankini? ) and catch up & put names to faces?

Just a suggestion, I'm just as happy to go incognito. I could tell you all who I am, but then I'd have to kill us both, so the secret didn't get out! ROFLMAO

    Default Woops

Well my chances of getting let loose by SWMTSWTP without a leash and a clothes peg on my wallet, for the Perth Wood Show - took a hit today!

I have been looking for ages to buy a spindle moulder head and knives for the new to me X31 Robland, because it came without any spindle moulder tooling!

Last night I spotted a guy on gumtree closing down his cabinet shop, and selling up all his gear! Just about everything was sold - all his machines etc - but apart from a few hand tools and draw runners etc and bits n bobs - all he had left was his spindle moulder tooling! The guy bought his spindle moulder already had all the tooling he needed and didn't want to pay for the extra sets.

I decided to go all in and buy them all as a job lot!.

The trouble that I have is this week - my spare parts for the Robland machine have all arrived to a dealer in the UK, and I have to pay also for those + to be shipped out to Oz and what with the high value of the Pound and cost of international shipping, when SWMTSWTP finds out about that expense as well...

What are my chances of being allowed anywhere NEAR a wood working show the next weekend?

Might have to sneak off tot he show unannounced maybe - say I'm going out to work and skive off for the day down at the wood show... only trouble is theres a quilting show or something on at the same time and venue and if the missus takes her old mum there I could get sprung.

What to do what to do.... ohh the dilemma...

    Default SWMTSWTP Insists

SWMTSWTP Insists we go to Claremont showgrounds Sunday, because the quilting show is on as well and she wants to take her ol mum to the quilting show!

I can't REALLY be held accountable, if there just HAPPENS to be a wood working show on at the same time can I?

I am thinking she might get suspicious, if I take the trailer behind the car to bring a DC back with me tho....

I could always just buy one at the show, and then have it delivered during the week when she's at work I guess!

    Ohh the temptations....
I really should be saving this $ for the 3 phase connection to the shed! (But wood shows only come once a year)!

I did see a sale on at carbatec too.... with a couple items I'd like!

Is it possible to have a tool collecting obsessive compulsive disorder? (I was tempted to say "tool fetish", but thought the better of it)

What to do, what to do....

So who from Perth besides Me, Bob & Willie Nelson are going?

Could be awful quiet there if we are the only ones from Perth attending?

I'd hate the 3 of us to have to get up and sing to entertain if no one else shows up! (Have you ever heard Willie sing?) "On the road again....."

Come on you can't tell me, it's just the 3 Amigos going!
