Your desk looks interesting, I would suggest the following:

1 RE: GLUE ; TITE-BOND water base is excellent, and has a reasonable cure time.
EPOXY 2PART ; the top of the line.
2 JOINING: JOINTS; This will be personal preference, if clear finish DOVE TAILS always look good,

3 I suggestion , RE CONSTRUCTION; make-it MODULAR, in solid timber it will be heavy, and awkward to move. The sections could be located in place with DOWELS, then secured with screws(hidden).

I am more into boats & turning than cabinet making , so hope these suggestions are helpful.

G'day Min.

Jeff has given you very sound advice, particularly in relation to the modular design concept.

The top could be made as one piece as it will be easy eoughn to get through doorways.

Hi Min.

You have already received some great advice.
Make the top separately.
Look under any large dining table, you will see how the top is fastened separately, usually screwed. So as to get through doors.
Epoxy is my only choice, but like vk4, I am a boat builder.
Dowels or biscuits, your choice.

Quite a big project for a first effort.
