Default Reading lounge HSC major work

Yes this is another HSC student posting their major work; sorry its so late into the construction but time is scarce. Anyway I have embarked on constructing a reading lounge, which essentially is a low lying bookshelf with a chair suitable for reading on top. I have made the construction from recycled Australian hardwood which has proved to be a huge pain, spending just under a month removing nails and dressing timber however I feel the resultant timber was worth the effort. I plan to make the chair from bent laminate timber (bendy core inner).
Basically so far I have constructed and cut parts from joining hardwood boards together, and am about to embark on joinery ranging from halving joints, to finger, Dominoied mitre and dovetail, hopefully employing a router jig a majority of it. I have also begun construction on the former to bend the timber; it will consist of 5 -6 particle board ribs covered in ply wood.
Now is where I would really appreciate your help, Firstly what finish would you recommend, keeping in mind I am pretty behind in the time plan and it’s a big job, I was leaning towards Tung oil??, Secondly what glue would you recommend for the laminate bending?? Any other thoughts, comments criticism is extremely welcome!

    1. Scale model of the reading lounge

    2. Starting timber

    3. Boards glued together

    4. A mitre cut
    5. Styrofoam model to refine curve on comfort

    6. Laser cut out of the curve for router template

    7. All the parts

I will try and get an engineering drawing uploaded soon

    Thanks

Ok just a quick update, Former construction complete, and successfully bent the timber to the shape of the chair. I used megapoxy 69 as the glue (recommended by their engineer) and i am very pleased with the results.
    More photos to come...
