Default starter bandsaw - is it really a bargain?

https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/blac...saw/1203606952 Ozito for $65 (bit more than half new price)

Looks like the seller has no idea what he is selling. Can't tell the difference between a bandsaw and a table saw. Probably explains why it has only been used once.

Ok for a starter saw or dedicated second saw for thin cuts( <20mm) with a 3mm blade.

As a starter saw, you have to check that the settings remain day after day. With most cheaper saws, the repeatability is not there. You have to tweak it every time you want to use it.

To be honest, I wouldn't touch it, unless you want to have constant head aches with it. I started of with a similar unit, couldn't keep blades in it, they were constantly breaking. I nearly gave up woodworking from it!!!!!!

If I had $65 spare cash I would save $20 and get his Liquid chocolate maker ..... likely to be more useful in the shed

Agreed with other posters, unless you really can't stretch your budget to a couple of hundred stay away from cheapies, they'll cause you loads of grief. Plus when you go buy replacement blades knowing that your new blades cost almost as much as your bandsaw will probably make you think twice about buying it.
