    Amazing....

I couldn't do that with a pencil & paper & here you are turning it out with Pyro pen.

WOW, wait till I find the words beautiful, stunning, amazing, no thats not them what comes after that? You should get them into serious galleries and make sure people know what they are and how they are done. Keep them comming David.

absolutely brilliant, if these are done for relaxation, I would love to see what you did for a living!!!!!.

I suggest that you take a couple around to some of the art Gallery's , I believe that you would get some interest, If not sales, if you so desired.

The donkey was pyrographed on european beech ply and all the others on hoop pine ply.

The machine I use is an 'Ironcore' but with a 'Razor tip' pen attached to it. I tend to use nibs I make myself from the wire they supply. I try to make the nib as general purpose as possible so I needn't change nibs often.
    David,That is un- believable !

Where do you get your ply from.
How long have you been doing Pyrography and did you do art of any kind before.

    Cheers

Thanks 'Strungout'. I usually get my ply from 'Mister Ply & Wood' mostly hoop pine and sometimes kauri. They just happened to have some european beech one time so I tried that too.

I've been doing pyrography for four years or so. I consider pyrography to be just another drawing media, albeit with a unique appearance, sometimes due to the 3D engraved nature of the lines. In my own work however, I tend to use a technique that avoids this.

A big plus for me is that pyrography is on timber and I like the look of timber. I didn't exactly choose pyrography when I got more fully immersed in woodcrafts after retiring from a full time position, it just seemed a logical place to start, as I was an illustrator and all I needed to learn was handling a different kind of 'pen'.

Claiming only four years experience in pyrography is a bit misleading though, as I have been an illustrator of about forty years experience, much of it with pen and ink before the advent of computer graphics.

Now in semi-retirement I can indulge in deadline-free non-digital art like pyrography, carving and watercolour painting when I don't have any other work with deadlines attached.

    Love the pyrography, unbelievable work.

I also visited your website and those welsh loves spoons you created are something else, I am gob smacked.

I also can't wait to see the Automata piece - 'A Fine Sounding Argument' come too life, I reckon that will be a cracker too.
