    Default 14" Woodman 2 speed

    Hi,
Looking for information on late 80 Woodman 14" bandsaw set up to cut wood but with 2 speeds. Why would they have 2 speeds? How do you know when to change the speeds?
    Cheers, appreciate any assistance.

Basically if you are running small blades then you can run them a lot faster than bigger blades. With the bigger blade cutting heavier material you need more torque and less speed.

Thanks for that, Len. I didn't know that.
