Default 3 to 4 Teeth Resaw Bandsaw Blade 1/2 Recommendation

    Hi,

I need a specialised blade for Bandsaw resawing that has no or very little resaw marks.

Can anyone make a suggestion which can be purchased from Aus?

Something maybe similar to the Highland Wood Slicer resaw blade which has 3 to 4 teeth but is sold in the US and not sure what the cost of freight would be.

    Thanks in Advance.

I would stay clear of the Woodslicer for Australian woods. I have tried a couple and they dull quickly. Nice finish, but simple carbon steel.

You need to be using a bimetal or, ideally, a carbide blade. Resaw blades are really from 3/4" upward, and this depends on your bandsaw, that is, how much tension it can handle. Carbide needs most as the blades are thicker. The resaw blade that needs least tension is the King Resaw.

Forget 3-4 tpi. This will clog up quickly. My 1" Woodmaster CT uses 1.3 tpi. Do not go above 2 tpi. My general use 1/2" bimetal blades are 3 tpi.

    Regards from Perth

    Thanks for the info derek.

I rang the guys at Henry Bros Saws though I am in Vic, West Suburbs and what the guys suggested were on par with what you stated.

So I purchased a 19mm Bi Metal Blade with a 1.3 TPI. The woodmaster is not available in a width of 19mm.

I own a Rikon 14" bandsaw which I do enjoy using and has a cutting height capacity of around 13"
hence why I purchased this machine plus the easy to use tilt table on the saw.

Resawing some timber or making veneer should be much easier now.

    Thanks Again for your help.
