Thread: Artisan 500B bandsaw

Does anyone own an Artisan 500B from I Wood Like or have comments on this brand? At $2250 for a 500mm 4hp machine it is significantly cheaper than all other saws of this capacity so is it great value or a hunk of junk?

I am in the market for a bandsaw 500-600mm and 3-4hp for occasional resaw jobs. 15amp and 3phase options are on the table. I am also looking at quality second hand saws due to the occasional use, there are some big cheap 3phase old bangers available but they are heavy, not mobile and too difficult to get into my workshop (need to slide it off a trailer).

The Hammer 440 looks like a good machine but at $3600 with a wheel kit it needs to be significantly better. I do not have a good experiance with Leda or Carbatec thus not looking at these.
