    Default General Use Bandsaw Blade

    Hi Guys,

    I have recently acquired a bandsaw (14" Jet) that has some old blades with it, but thought I should buy at least 1 or 2 new blades for use.

    I know I am asking for trouble as there are many options, but I am interested in a recommendation on a "go to" bandsaw blade.

    I am thinking:

    1. General Blade of some sort for day to day (or should I say weekend to weekend) cutting of 20mm-40mm softwoods/hardwoods - not tight curves, just gradual curves and corner rounding.
    2. Assume I should also have a decent resaw blade?

    Interested in type of blade, brand recommendations / suppliers in Sydney or online

    henry bros in vineyard sell a 1/2 inch 3 or 4 tpi bimetal which is a good general purpose band, but bands are fairly cheap really and easy to change, i have several for different purposes

    I agree with above post I purchased a cheap chainsaw sharpener and get good life out of bimetal blades that I can sharpen at least once or twice.
