Bandsaw blade suppliers - recomendations
Hi - does anybody have a recommendation for quality bandsaw suppliers in Melbourne/that can ship? I am looking to get a quality resaw blade - the biggest and meanest I can find!
Thank you in advance.

You could try McDivens.
McDiven Saws P/L specializes in all types of bandsaws
As for quality, it seems to me that most band saw blade manufacturers in this country, source their base stock from various overseas suppliers. What can be interesting is that you can sometimes be supplied with a 12mm blade, which is metric country sourced, or your 12mm blade could be 12.7mm, meaning it could be sourced from either an inch and feet country or from a supplier who supplies mainly to an inch and feet country.
I've had both of those sizes from the same supplier when I ordered a 12mm blade, after ringing up to discuss the slight size difference, I was told it is a bit of a raffle concerning which one you could get.

I have been happy with blades from McDivens but collected them as I go down that way on a regular basis so don't know about shipping

I know you said Melbourne but I use Henry Bros in NSW. They are great blades and the service is excellent. I get blades ordered over the phone and have them within 3 days, can't complain about that.

+1 for McDivens. Last I bought cost $16 for a 14" bandsaw, and they do ship.

McDivens for me. Have had them shipped from time to time, but mostly call in when I am in the big smoke.

Speciality Saws in Croydon should be able to offer advice based on saw size, materials to be cut etc, and fabricate while you wait in most cases, economically priced. Tell them Mal from Steel Trends sent you.
They did all of our cold cut saw blades when I was in the metal furniture frame game, and have weekly/biweekly drop off/pickup service to most areas of Melb suburbs for commercial customers but could probably drop some blades off for you on one of their runs if prearranged.
They were doing a lot of commercial mill blades, and it was common to have the back of the van loaded with bandsaw blades to about 200mm wide when they stopped of to pickup/drop off our stuff. I have used then for my source of blades for hobby sized blades for the past 10 years and a few others have also.I used to be an engineer, I'm not an engineer any more, but on the really good days I can remember when I was.

Henry Bros NSW and Combined Saws and Knife (CSK) in Deception Bay Queensland. Offer good quality blades and quick delivery, well packaged.
i find the variable pitch blades from HB to be particularly good for resawing, no waterboarding cuts.
CSK also make a TCT blade for resawing, and are the recommended sharpener for Laguna Resaw King blades.
No connection, just a satisfied customer happy to share experienceregards,
