    Default Blades.

    Hi all,
Just bought a blade from McDivens on Tue. 2375mm 3/8 x 6TPI. $12.50 Hakasson. Had a German Blade, but was not as happy as with the Hakasson Skip Tooth.
Not doing as much these Days, but in the Past I bought a 100ft. of Hakasson for $81.50, & wood get 12 blades from it.
I Silver Soldered them myself, & never had a problem, other than a bit of a bump at the join.
    Regards,
    issatree.

What do you plan on using that blade for? Just curious.

Whelp, that didn't work. It's a damn fine blade they made up for me, but the metal is far too thick and inflexible for the size of my bandsaw. I can get it in there and tension it, it's just far too difficult to get it running on the wheels properly. Not a total loss though, as I have set up the bandsaw as per derek's video link, with the other new blade, and it works a treat. It's a bit difficult with the carbatec blade guides to get the spacing consistent as they move up and down, but it's close enough. Probably the best part was testing for approximate square with a scrap of wood. Best trick ever, so much better than stuffing around for hours with a square trying to get it perfect.

Hughans are awesome, FYI. Have now seen officially the biggest circular saw blade of my life. Also they will completely redo saw teeth on the cheap, so I can get 3 handsaw blades completely retoothed and sharpened for the price of one new handsaw from Carbatec. Gonna have to make up a few nice handles, for my swish new saws!

Now that I think about it, I wonder if they can make up saw blanks? I bet they could.
