Thread: Bp360 H&f 14inch b/saw.

I've not looked the saw up, and will speculate instead on some possible issues.
Could well be the table not being adjusted to where it should be, is it fouling the blade?

With guides retracted, (especially so if there's hidden ones below the table)
and provided the blade isn't cutting into say, the doors, or indeed the sliding guard under the table if supplied...
then my first guess would be the upper wheel rubbing at the back...

Rather than mention coplaner wheels, It might be more insightful to mention wheel depth in chassis instead.
Should the small saw be not the best for laying a spirit level on, then plumblines shown in both axis,
using four blocks (which could be taped on) for stabilizing the lines when plumbing the column.
line stabilization is a real must if plumbing a tippy thing on two axis.

The reason for doing so, to check wheel depth is the same.
Here the plumblines are resting on the wheel retaining bolts instead of the magnetic blocks.
Be aware the hubs of the wheels might not be identical, so that would need checking beforehand.

Should it not be wheel depth issue, then chances might be you'll spot something evident if you checked this,
as the table will be removed, sawdust mostly cleared up, and better lighting helping things.

I'll not bother mentioning wheel alignment, as spending a day or two, or even a week or so!
is seemingly a lot more valuable than having a saw which would be reliable on a long term basis,
and you might be planning on upgrading for all I know, so no point in saying more.

That looks like the same beast as my sherwood 14" standard

it has an identical guide bearing setup

I found the guide bearing at the rear of the blade below the table was not adjusted correctly with too much pressure on the blade which was making the scraping sound
apparently all bearings should only just be touching the blade or very close, you could check that all bearings turn freely as well

its a fiddly setup, probably easier to adjust with the table removed

Thank you hodgo for your reply, when i first set this machine up the noise frightened me and the sparks of the top back bearing was unbelievable.when i pulled it apart the bearing was seized. back to supplier with a bit of hassle they replaced the complete setup.they are fiddly to set up. best regards. best regards, Derrick.Smith.(deckell).
