Glad that fixed it.
Here is another tip, turn it off at the wall when you aren't using it, mine turned itself on one day.
Lucky I was just leaving the shed & had just locked up when I heard it start.
The crimp spade connector on the back of the start/stop switch was slightly loose, just enough to cause heat at the connection.
The incoming active wire was crossing the motor active wire & the insulation melted just enough for them to come into contact thus bypassing the switch.Cliff.

We all should be doing this as a matter of safe work practices and especially if you get curious visitors (young or old) in your shed. Even to the extent of unplugging all machines when you expect to be away for a while. That makes it a conscious two or three step process to activate a machine.
btw what is the typical lifespan of capacitors used on wood working machinery? Seems my bandsaw and table saw both purchased at about the same time are beginning to show signs of
start issues as described in the OP.Mobyturns
