It's going :)
So I went all out and got a new single phase motor, which has now been hooked up and runs like a dream, it's 15amp and has plenty of go about it. I ended up getting a new 4" pulley to go with it. I have also replaced the bearings in the lower wheel from the single side shielded sort to double side shielded.
I has some issues when I diassasembled the break with the screw being threaded, so had to go get an M12 nutsert helicoil kit to fix it, and a new shoulder bolt. But now that's all done the bandsaw is running very happily.
The little dust extractor cannot pull down through the minimal clearance insert but it keeps the dust off the lower wheel which is good.
I have bought a new 1.3 TPI blade for resawing bigger stuff, which runs a treat.
The only issue I am having at the moment is that the blade tracking is a little finickie. I'll explain As the bandsaw has a flat surface on the wheels which is not entirely unusual for Europoean and larger bandsaws. I run the teeth just off the front edge of the upper wheel. (I hope this is correct)
But currently the blade 'wanders' a little bit, it comes forward almost 5 to 7mm sometimes before going back to just clearing the thrust bearing. This is just when it is running and not in a cut or anything...
Any help with this would be appreciated, the blade tension is good, I don't have a tension meter but the blade deflection is minimal when pushing on it...
Cheers
