New Dust Maker
Hi everybody
Iv'e been reading posts on this site for the last few months and have gained a huge amount of information on a wide range of subjects but mainly on the bandsaws of which I have just purchaced a BP16A. After reading all the posts of late helped me make this choice and am extremely happy with it. The posts all about how to set up and tune the saw to get the best out of it has certainly saved many hours of frustration. I look forward to continuing to read and learn as I go so thanks again to all.

Gday David, welcome to the BP-16A club.
You are right in that once it is set-up and tuned, it is a great saw for the money.
It is a versatile machine, and I recommend you get the Band Saw Handbook by Mark Duginske to get a good understanding of the machine, as there are a lot of things that can go wrong on a bandsaw and the performance can go south .
If you have a problem and cant find a solution after a search here, then post away, as there are many people here that have been there, done that with it.I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.

Thanks for your thoughts. I ordered the Bandsaw Handbook from Abebooks.com last week for $21.24 AUS delivered which I thought was value for money. I also had 2 other books arrived - Building Beautiful Boxes with your bandsaw by Lois Keener Ventura for which looks really good. Pics and diagrams very easy to follow. Other book is Box making Basics by David Freedman which looks a little bit more complicated. Got both for $60.00. CHeceked the price here in Aus and they wanted $90 in the book shops so overseas is sometimes the way to go. I am looking forward to having a go at making some bandsaw boxes but need to give Peacock Saws a visit to buy some narrower blades. Thinking of a 3/16' and a 1/45' blades for the tighter curves. Any suggestions on this? Is there a better supplier in Bris?
Regards
David
