Has anyone experienced electronic brake problems with their Hammer N4400?

Brake was not turning off. Had to replace the whole switch part. However, the problem has snowballed with a damaged motor as well. Going to be an expensive exercise. Machine is 7 years old and has been trouble free until now.

Thought I would give you a update. Total cost amounted to a bit above $1300. Had the motor rewound locally for about $400 and bought a complete new switch from Felder for around $300 including freight from Sydney and the rest was the labour cost of four visits by the electrician. However, the bandsaw formed part of my contents insurance and I made a fusion claim and they paid up readily. So all has ended well.

No idea unfortunately. In the switch box there is a small controller (my description) that allows you to adjust the breaking time. The electrician had trouble reading the wiring diagram initially but Felder, Brisbane, set him right quickly when he phoned them.
I certainly hope it was not just dust particles as Bob L queried. However, the switch box seemed to be sealed well. Appears I maybe the only person who has experienced this problem.
