Gaia help me
So I got a Ryobi EBW4023L Bandsaw for XMas this year (got a bunch of Crappings Vouchers and picked up aforementioned Bandsaw) and OMG, I can't seem to get it to cut a straight line for the life of me. Spent about two hours adjusting all the guides and runners etc as per the manual and still won't cut a straight line. Its a sliding linear scale on blade twist vs cut depth with 80mm (max cut depth) un-usable and between 10-20mm just barely able to cut straight. Have tired this on various density woods but seems to be the general rule of thumb. Wondering if anyone can help, perhaps I have missed something important (although like I said adjusted everything as per the manual so the top/bottom blade guides, bearing thingy at the back, blade tension (sounds a nice note when blade is "strumed") and tracking). Is this just a rubbish piece of kit that I wasted a voucher dollars on or will it actually do something other then twist and torque?

As far as I know, your chances of getting a straight cut on any bandsaw that small are slim-to-none.

How wide is the blade? How many teeth\inch? are you cross cutting or ripping?
A narrow blade with a fine kerf will follow the grain when ripping and never cut a straight line.
I have an old 3 wheel H&F bandsaw, a little bench top thing (I got it cheap), I had the same sort of problems. I experimented with a few different blades and eventually found one that worked moderately well. Mind you, I still only rough cut on it but I mostly get by.
Less tpi and more set seems to work for me.

sounds like you've bought an outer curve scroll saw
