Hafco BP-310 & Sherwood SBS-300. Are they the same bandsaws with different brands?
Hey Fellas,
Im looking at buying a half decent Bandsaw for around the $700 mark. Looking around at whats available in the Perth area and ive settled on one that looks decent but it seems that same as another brand from a local shop. Can you guys tell me if these are the same bandsaws:
https://www.timbecon.com.au/sawing/1...andard-bandsaw
https://www.machineryhouse.com.au/W952
The Sherwood is slightly cheaper and looks better (not that it really matters), but id be interested what you guys think.
Cheers

Close enough and almost certainly made in the same factory in China. I have the Hafco BP-360 and it is tolerable but lacks power and I have lots of trouble getting the blades to run smoothly and not wobble, but that could be user error.
Good luck

I just bought a BP355, mainly because it has a larger motor which will come in handy for resawing. Apart from that, either of those machines look pretty good.

If you are able, it is worth considering a 14" bandsaw.

I went and had a look at the two and they look very similar to each other but something about the Sherwood bandsaw seemed like lower quality than the Hafco one... It seemed like they were made at the same factory but with lower quality parts? I could be wrong but regardless for the small price difference im going to go with the Hafco bandsaw.
Pedro66 your right, im going to go the BP-360 14". I know the 355 is better with a larger motor but its another step up in price and im sure ill be happy with the 360, and i do like that it has a larger table size, and the ability to have a circle jig.

Hey Jim, I knew they were having a sale so im waiting till the 28/03/19 to buy. It usually goes for $903, but it'll be $799 from the 28-30th and if you create a user account online they will give you $50 off your first purchase over $200 i think it is. So if they let you add that it'll come to $749 which is a great deal.
Im not sure if they'll let you combine the two discounts but ill be trying over that weekend. If your still interested i can let you know how it goes but i dont think you can go wrong to buy one over that period.
