Hafco BP 360 resaw capacity review .
Hi Guys,
I'm posting this for people who are considering buying one of the budget 14" machines sold in Oz,under a $1000.
I agree that upmarket machines like the Laguna, Hammer etc are head and shoulders above these machines, but these are not what I am addressing here.
One of the questions that comes up when people are considering a purchase is "will it resaw large section timber", now I can't answer that cos' I don't know what you mean by"Large".
What I can do is show you what a $800 dollar saw will cut.

So this was a piece of 50 x 200 x 1400 Tassie Blackwood , dense and heavy, none of that lightweight woolly stuff.
It took about two minutes to do each cut , with just enough pressure from me to keep it moving.
I use the saw for this purpose about once a month.
The saw has 1.5 hp motor, I used a 1/2 " 3 tpi bi-metal blade, set up using the Snodgrass method.
IMO the set up and the bi metal blade are what makes this possible.
I hope this helps anyone considering one of these saws.
Cheers,
