Help please-broken bandsaw
Hi all,
I've broken my bandsaw, actually it just went bang one night but I didn't know where the bang came from until I tried to use my bandsaw two days later. The pics show the parts behind the top pully wheel and as you can see there buggered. The part numbers are WA14-21 and WA14-26. Yes I suffed one trying to get it off as I didn't have a manual and I purchased it second hand so I didn't know how to remove the assembly. I don't know what brand it is so I've given all the info I can. Where can I get parts for it please, as this is a great bandsaw I'd love to fix it.

To me they look like standard chinese 14" saw tensioner parts. I would take them in to a machinery shop such as CarbaTec and get them to match up your parts to ones they have in stock. I bet you will find they have one that is identical.
PeterThe other day I described to my daughter how to find something in the garage by saying "It's right near my big saw". A few minutes later she came back to ask: "Do you mean the black one, the green one, or the blue one?".

Those two pins on either side of the peice in pic 3 are removable, you might want to try pullin them out before you go and buy your bits, as they were a separate item, might save you buying them.

Looks to me as it is cast in aluminium.
If you fail to get a replacement part, you might consider to get it welded/soldered by someone who are used to work in aluminium.
It is not a hopeless job, and you might end up with a part which is a lot stronger than the original part.
I ones had an aluminium air-compressor block repaired this way, and it still runs without problems. The alternative to this repair would have been to buy a new air-compressor !!!
