Identification please - and a gloat
I had a phone call from my son on Friday " Dad - there is a 14" bandsaw at work they are going to send to the scrap dealer- do you want it"
Well never to be someone to say no to a freebie I said yes and I would pick it up on Saturday on the back of my Hilux.
Son said I dont think it will fit - I say -its only a 14" of course it will fit. Son says It weighs about 6 to 7 hundred Kilos - Nah a 14" bandsaw cant weigh that much.
I turned up to pick it up and the pictures tell the story. Son thought the 14 inches was the height of the cut - it's actually a 36" bandsaw - and it weighs 6-7 hundred kilos. It also has a built in blade welder as well.
Does anyone have any idea of what brand it may be so I can do some research to find manuals etc?
thanks

That's a metal bandsaw? If so maybe check DoAll or Steiner or any of the European brands all of whom escape me right now (brain overheat)(46 degrees)

Woodcutta, you have taunted, poked, prodded and gloated, glaoted, gloated and gloated!
Since I have nothing nice to say, I will say nothing! That is until that bandsaw turns up in my shed!

Hi Greg, Thanks for the tip. I went searching and didn't see anything either Doall or steiner, but did come across a "Startrite" that looks very similar.
DID YOU KNOW - If you were to search images in google and typed in "Bandsaw" you would get 289,000 images -DAMHIKT
thanks again,
woodcutta
ps, Stringy - dont think I can fit it in my shed - could I store it at your place until I build an extension

Yeah, no worries!
I expect you will bring it up on my trailer which you have had for a couple of years now!

Tell you what boys. To save arguments bring the saw down here on Stringys trailer (I can use that too) and I will look after both of them for you.

I'd be sooo tempted to post the 2nd pic in the Scrollsaw forum, asking "does this take pinless blades?"
