Default Jet JWBS 14" bandsaw guides

Hello, my son in law has an old 1988 Taiwanese bandsaw, and I broke the lower guide when tuning it. The old cast aluminium which held the lower guide block in place just fell apart. I am in big trouble

Carbatec and Hare & Forbes sell guides that look like those from a Jet JWBS 14" bandsaw. Their lower guide mounting plate only has a single slot, whereas the S-i-L's machine has a guide with two slots to the left of the guide blocks.

can any Jet owners please tell me how the lower guide on their machine is fitted to the bandsaw - 1 or 2 bolts in the one slot? How far apart? A picture could be very helpful too, if possible. Have read the Manual, but it doesn't show anything

Hope some one can help please
    regards,

    Dengy

When I get home from work I'll check it out - unless someone chimes in earlier

Not exactly sure if this shows it, but I think you're talking about how the carbatec rollers attach to the base?
These are the carbatec aftermarket ones on a jet - 2 bolts into a single slot.
    Does this help?

Many thanks for doing this Gabriel. The pic on the left is exactly what I was looking for. Can you please tell me the distance between centres of the two bolts?

The distance between the centres of the two bolts looks to be about 20mm, but given its a USA build, perhaps 3/4 inch.

We fitted the new JWBS guides today. The upper guide needed to have the bearing guides at full extension, but still fitted nicely and was steady as a rock. Even the blade guard fitted, but needed to have a corner rounded off , otherwise it would touch the thrust bearing.

The lower guide needed two new holes drilled and tapped to take 6mm bolts, but that went well, plenty of room on the frame
