How do you think the Artisan compares to the Laguna in terms of quality, features and price (I see they were both on your original shortlist)?
And have you had a chance to put the Artisan through its paces?

Haven't had a chance to use it, I assembled the saw and went and dropped the blade down to CSK as to get a couple of blades made for it. To be honest I h ad my heart set on a second hand Italian saw but all that I saw were 3phase.
The saw wheel is 400mm which is just shy of 16", depth of cut is less than Laguna and the motor on the Artisan is x2hp.
The cast iron table on the Artisan is flat, not like the 2 piece castings on the Laguna which have been known not to be flat at the join. I think build quality is similiar. I like the thick cast iron wheels on the artisan too. The fence looks similar to the Laguna. The guides though are bearing where the Laguna has ceramic.
