Default N4400 with Lennox Woodmaster Carbide Blade

I am interested in feedback from N4400 owners who use a Lennox Woodmaster 1 inch blade with carbide teeth. Any feedback on usage, longevity, setup, cut smoothness would be appreciated. Also if anyone has had any issues with tensioning and the tension spring as reported overseas.

    thanks
    Mat

    Hi Mat

I tried to return your PM but your inbox was full.

The Lenox Woodmaster CT 1" is a good blade insofar as it cuts straight and lasts a long time. It is a relatively thick blade and requires high tension, which the N4400 is quite capable of providing. It does need to be cranked up, otherwise it will not perform optimally.

I purchased my CT about 2 years ago now, and it has resawn a fair amount of hard, abrasive WA timber. I have sharpened it myself 3 times so far.

The smoothness of cut is not its forte. It does decent job, but I have seen smoother. Where it shines is in the speed of cut. I think one can choose either speed or smoothness, but not both. I actually reduced the set on mine (using a diamond stone), which did help a little.

The main competitor in my view is the Resaw King. It does not need as much tension. I've heard good mixed reports - Google for these - I would like to know more about it.

    Regards from Perth

    Derek

Thanks for reply and attempted pm. Have you considered the Lenox trimaster?
What length do you order your blades? I wonder if those having tensioning problems may order their blades on the long side.
    Thanks

I have a 3/4" Lennox Trimaster on my Minimax BS and it gives a good result for my needs but I cannot compare it to other blades as I have never used any other carbide blades.
