Can you just buy the blade and fit it to an ordinary bandsaw?

Unlikely I would think. They do speak of special guides, upper and lower. Might be worth investigating, blade length would need to be of similar range. I'd reckon by the time you buy the bits and do the engineering that is probably required cost would outweigh benefit.

    Just my 2c worth.

Blade length is 2375. Blade is 25 - 30 Euros. The bearing is 80 Euros. I can't see the detail, but it appears that the blade is supported at the back and both sides by the one bearing.

How does the length compare to a standard 14 inch bandsaw?

    Food for thought.

It's actually the exact same length as my bandsaw.

Pretty impressive scrolling, I must admit.

Saw Blade Stabilizer - Band Saw Stabilizer | Carter Products

Its nothing overly hi-tech. Just a bearing with a groove in it.

    The Saw.
    Hi to you all,
Yes, to me it is only the Small Blade, but the Demonstrator is very good at what he is doing. I think he makes it look a lot easier than it maybe.
I think you could cut the cost, by cutting a couple of Guides out of a bit of Hardwood, so then it wood not matter if the blade run up against the guides. You still have the Bearing running side on to the Blade at the back.
Yes, my B/saw also is 2375mm. & a Blade costs me $12.75 from McDivens in Williamstown North, Vic. I use 3/8th.in. x 6TPI.

    Hi!

I am in the US and have an autistic child that wants the Pegas Scroll Band Saw SO badly. He has the Hegner Scroll Saw and the Grizzly 17 inch Anniversary Edition Band Saw, but says he NEEDS this. Woodworking is his gift, and I would like to try and get him this saw for Christmas. However I am not finding them for sale except in India, which would worry me. The thing appears to be very expensive, and think might be hard to keep track of a big purchase in India, but maybe someone here knows more than I do...I am sure of it! Thanks for your time.

Thank you! I wonder if any other company makes a similar product. Shipping might cost more than the saw..I sure hope not!~

I see a company called Bearwood sells their blades in the US, it might be worth dropping them an email and asking if they can supply the machinery on a special order?
