Recommendations Please
Should I purchase a bandsaw?
What type (brand/model) of bandsaw should I purchase for weekend hobby woodwork?
Where would you recommend I purchase it, and how much should I be prepaired to pay?
Would you purchase a bandsaw before a pedestal drill?

-Yes
-I am sure if Triton had one it would be included in your list of recent purchases But- Depends on your budget.
-Again Depends on budget. You may wish to look towards Carba-tec as they sell lower budget saws. Otherwise - Gabbett machinery, Advantec machinery etc etc theres heaps of places that sell em. Others will add to the list.
-I would, but I didn't
HTH
Cheers!

Pedestal drill or bandsaw??????
I use both with such regularity that I would have trouble deciding which I would forsake first, fortunately I have two of each!
As for the bandsaw, what you need is a record three wheeler, a wonderful little unit and does not break blades like everyone says they do, now, let me think, where do you get one, I know, I have one that I am not using, good price too....
I only use the big one now but it does work well.
This was not a plug for my saw...
Melbourne Trading Post would be an option for a second hand unit, got my biggy from there and it's as good as gold, but know what you are looking for and be prepared to haggle.Stupidity kills. Absolute stupidity kills absolutely.
