Go back to the supplier and get them to fix it.

Growing old is much better than the alternative!

I don't reckon a mitre gauge is a lot of use with a bandsaw. Never used mine anyway. You could try drilling and taping some holes in the bar for some grub screws...

Peter, drill & tap a few holes in the slide, and screw in some nylon grub screws, should be able to get them from a bolt supplier I'd reckon. Adjust to finetune the fit.

yeh, I was going to suggest that. .. I done it with one of my old table saw mitre guages. Works fine. And re-adjustable when the grubs wear. But I'd put some lock tight on the threads of the screws should there be any risk of play. They come in little red bottles. Get a temporary type one that doesn't permanently fix the thread, so that you can adjust latter. I reakon.

Scooter, Apricotripper, suggestions much appreciated and taken onboard,
SilentC , am new to using a bandsaw and tend to stick with what I know , but can see where you are coming from , as the more you use it the more "freehand " it gets

    Thanks all Peter
