Its only a plug, PDL56PA432. its 32 amp (didnt need this big but mine are all 16 or 32. 32 is more versatile). I did search it on Trademe but couldnt find any suitable and/or wasnt prepared to buy second hand electrical component with unknown history - I didnt want to take any risk when I 3 phased my workshop so had my chartered electrical engineer to design my workshop's electrical and they are all PDL and all new. costed me a little fortune but its peace of mind. in hindsight I wish I had 100amp mains installed at the time but its not really necessary.

I agree. All mine are 32amp - but all used. Not that anything I have draws anywhere near 32amps. My biggest draw will be a 4hp Wadkin saw - which draws just under 10amps per phase IIRC. The compressor and bandsaw are both 3hp, the buzzer 1.5hp, and the woodlathe 1hp). The circuit is protected by 16amp motor rated fuses.

Buying second-hand I ended up with a few mixed lots, hence selling off a 20amp plug, and giving a 16amp plug to a friend.

    Cheers, Vann.

Mine machines are a lot more power hungry than yours...

My compressor is 10hp, extractor is 5.5hp, the sander is a 25hp monster, and 3 other smaller machines all within 3kw.

FLC on the sander main motor plate is 38amp, due to in rush current I had to call in an industrial electrician to wire in a very costly Danfoss VSD (I dont believe in cheaper alternatives when it comes to industrial machinery and electrical gear). normally the VSD is to be a little bigger than the motor but I would be looking at 5 figures for a VSD if I want to go up in size. so 18.5kw VSD it is.... So far so good. I only use it to limit the in rush current (6 x FLC!). the sander would ramp up to its full speed in 10 seconds with the VSD compare to almost instantaneous (which I dont need)

"The easiest way to wire it, is to ...................................CALL A SPARKY.
240 V is reasonably easy. 3 phase is DEADLY, unless you know what you're doing, it's not as simple as connecting the 4 wires. Having found that a factory that I once rented, had 3 phase wiring already in, but was wired all over the place. Ended up having the BIL (Qualified Sparkie) undo all the plugs and checking them. What woke me up that something was wrong, was a machine would run in one direction in one socket yet run opposite on another!!

If your 3 phase machine runs one direction plugged in to one socket but the opposite in another socket then the wiring error is in the sockets not the plug or machine.

Congratulations on acquiring a great machine.
