Cheers Al!
I really wanted to try and stick with the made in Aus theme, you get what you pay for and I've been burned with cheap hardware from PRC way too many times. Probably spent close to $400 on it but considering even the cheap 10" from Carbatec is more than that I'm happy. It's been a great learning experience too!
Now I need to keep my eye out for a table saw. Just missed out on a couple of JET saws in the last couple of weeks - one @ $600 and another @ $350, both of them were sold by the time I messaged. Everything else has been overpriced, too massive or too cheap (GMC, Ozito etc). Nearly jumped on a Durden 12" yesterday but decided against it due to the heft and lack of safety features like a riving knife or blade guard.

Some more progress this weekend. First coat of paint on the last part of the case and finally managed to get some rubber cut to size accurately for the wheels. That was a pain, I went through about 10 pieces of rubber to get 2 lengths that were straight and the correct width. Still need to glue them but I've got to head out shortly so I'll finish that later on this arvo.

Working on the pins that hold the badges on. Annoyingly I realised I could have tapped the originals out after I'd already ground the heads off. Wasn't evident until I'd stripped the paint so live and learn I guess.
I don't have a lathe so I chucked some 3mm screws up in a drill and filed them down to the diameter needed for a press fit. Didn't like the thought of having the Philips head showing so I tried filling the head with solder and then sanded it down til I was happy with the finish. Just three more to go!

Getting closer on the case finish too, one more light coat and it's done.

The original pins were probably brass.
I've made pins along the same lines as you have several times using brass screws.
Starting with a longish (25mm) oversized screw e.g. 4mm for a 3mm pin allows you to remove the phillips slots and still retain enough off a head.

Yeah I been looking at those as well for use on machinery. I wish they would quote the lumionus flux for all of them.
They only seem to give it for one (70 lumens / 2W) but I think they may be all the same light in different packages.
If they are all only 70 Lumens I really want something a lot brighter than this - maybe in the 500 lumen range which makes it about a 9W LED.

Fresh tread! Still need to put the urethane tyres on but this will fill out the channel in each wheel and add a crown. Went pretty smoothly, one was a little problematic but I trimmed the rubber slightly and smoothed it out and it seems good now.
Love that Sika contact adhesive, it can get messy if you're not careful but it's really strong stuff and will bond just about anything.
