Default Celery Top -list of sizes available - Brisbane

Old growth CT - seasoned about 15 yrs - rough sawn - slab cut -some boards could be described as quarter sawn. Cut from very close to the heart of the tree. Approx. 120 growth rings across 105mm board - see end grain pic
    4.8 - 5.6 mtr lengths - 1 @ 210 x 55, 4 @ 155 x 55, 8 @ 105 x 55, 1 @ 100 x 55, 9 @ 80 x 55.
    4 - 5+ mtr lengths - 6 @ 155 x 30, 10 @ 105 x 30, 6 @ 80 x 30.
    3 mtr lengths - 8 @ 100sqr, 12 @ 100 x 40, 2 @ 100 x 80.
$6000/cube with 1 free slab of myrtle (3mtrs x 900 x 40 with some defects) with order of 1 cube or more. Or about $20 super foot for small amounts - under $750.
I have used this frequently for drawer runner restoration - hard & durable - also models such as half hull etc, antique restoration & marine cabinets - very stable.
I would like to know what buyers requirements might be - could it be suitable for musical instruments? I don't have thicknesser but can get it dressed locally - would be a fee for this.
For out of towners wishing to make a personal inspection(recommended) I would be happy to provide accomm. - for purchases of $500 or more.
Important note: in order to post I have to insert some value in "start price: "reserve price" & "next minimum bid" - please ignore these as details are in the add.
PM me with what you wish to buy & for contact details.
    Happy Easter,
    Kiwi

For those curious about the celery I definitely recommend you taking a peak. I had a look at it yesterday and I have to say it includes some of the best celery I have seen for a while. Most boards show very little or no checking.... one 6m x 0.25m x 0.055m board looked very clean all boards have very tight growth rings. I will certainly be making a trip back with some cash and hopefully you don't buy it all before I get there.

Strange, really, when I saw this stack of Celery Top Pine some time ago it was pretty grey and weathered. If you are "Hammercon" and really keen then you should buy it all - unless of course you are actually the seller using a different username? That wouldn't really be ethical so I do hope that it isn't the case. This is the second time at least this stuff has been on the forum, with no takers each time. Maybe means something? BTW a peak is the top of a hill or mountain -- a peek is taking a look!

I have tried to be polite regarding some of the commentators on this site but you really are pushing the boundaries. In all the times it has been advertised I can only remember 3 enquiries - 2 from 100's of miles away & 1 local - Hc. As far as I can remember Hammercon is the only person to ever view my CT. Provide a date & place if you have viewed it. The peek by Hc involved unstacking & inspecting every board. After many years in storage sawn wood does tend to go grey - just how many days have you been working with wood? Any boards unsuitable for use have long since gone to the tip.The repeated advertising simply means most Qlnders have never seen or used this grade of CT - & don't know what they are missing out on. It's the same in the antiques trade - retailers have trouble moving mahogany furn but soft Qlnd cedar furn is much sought after. Local buyers want local product simply because that is what they are familiar with.
For privacy reasons I am unable to verify Hc's identity but it should not be difficult for moderators to do so.
To Hammercon thank you for your courtesy & best wishes to you & your fiance.

    Default Defence of character

Sorry to disappoint you Xanthorrhoeas but I am not the seller nor connected to the seller in any way. Thank you for making such an erroneous assumption and drawing my legitimacy and credibility into question though. I am a Brisbane based admirer of fine timbers and the finest cabinetry work, who unlike you, made the time consuming effort to inspect every piece of CT on offer by Kiwihumidor. This involved unstacking and closely checking every board for rot, twist, checking or other degrade from end grain to end grain. Every board was then restacked. Therefore I believe I have a much better gauge on the quality of timber currently on offer than what you have alluded to, especially given that you only viewed the timber "some time ago". If you have only viewed the timber "some time ago" I hardly see how your comments or opinion could be considered valid? And to answer your question why I don't buy all the CT....well I am getting married at the end of the year and do no have the funds to do so. My sincerest apologies to all forum members who have been misled or dissuaded by comments from Xanthorrhoeas. If you are genuinely interested in the CT on offer then a quick look in person should address any of your concerns.

Note to moderators: I encourage you to check into my legitimacy and credibility and remove any comments that purport me to be the seller of, or connected in any way to, the seller of this timber.

    Regards,
    Glen H

What difference does it make, who's who at the zoo. It's the timber that's for sale not the bloke.
If you like it and you're happy with the price you buy it.
