    Default Free wood - Richmond Victoria

    Over the Easter break I replaced my side fence. My neighbour has been there for over 50 years and the fence has never been replaced in all of that time. The rails are heavily weathered but as soon as you cut in to it you can see that the timber inside is a beautiful red colour and like the day it was milled. Incredible for timber that has been out in the weather for over 50 years. I suspect it is either Jarrah or Karri. I am keeping some for myself but have about a dozen pieces of 3"x2" around 1200 long that are free to a good home. I know there are plenty of blokes here that can polish a tturd so here is your chance to get some free turds! Only requirement is that you need to post pics or whatever you transform this timber in to, before and after shots. I will give first preference to someone who wants to use the timber, but failing that it would make good firewood for someone local.Pickup is in Richmond Victoria.

    Would love to grab a couple of lengths if possible. Have had an idea for a project for a while that the weathered posts would be perfect for!!
    I'm working in balwyn for most of the week so could swing passed sometime if that suits.

    I just started woodwork last year and would love 2-3 lengths to turn something nice and also make a little outdoor table. Sounds like this timber would be perfect for outdoors. Will send u a PM. Màny thanks for your generosity. It sure would be sad and bad to use it as firewood!!
