    Default Black Walnut Tenon Saw.

Hi all. I finished working on this new tenon saw today. The handle wood is Black Walnut. The length of tooth line is 9 1/2 inches; and its been sharpened 13 tpi, soft rip. Plenty of photo's for you too have a look at. Feels very nice in the hand and performs very well on both types of grain .

    Regards Stewie.

This thread should have come with a drool warning

That is one very pretty saw, well done

I assume Black Walnut is the US timber and not Qld Walnut?

World class craftsmanship and design. Such a nice saw.

Thanks Frank. Not sure I deserve that much Kudos. 8 1/2 ~10 would be my personal score on design. The wood choice, finish, and standard of sharpening a bit higher. Getting everything perfected is a goal I am still striving for.

    Another great saw there Stewie
    The timber looks great
The design is simple yet elegant a hard one to pull off
Just a humble suggestion the area on the handle that runes vertical from the brass back up
    Excuse my grammar hear
U could initialize for something different

Thanks Ray. Not sure I am totally happy with the shaping to the back of the cheek and the saw bolt placements. But its getting there.

    Hi Stewie
The area that sweeps up from the spine to vertical on the handle.
I think would be a perfect place to emboss your initials.or something along that thought.
    Hope that makes more sense.

Stewie, I think you are being a little hard on yourself, this is one sweet looking saw.
You may think it could be improved however I'm sure there would be heaps of people out here who would love it as it is and think it was A1, me included.
    Keep up the good work,
    Cheers, Ian
