Default F clamp or bar clamp instead of expensive hold fast.

Sure the super engineered V brand hold fast looks & works great but $79.00 ? I'll need at least two of them, so much for a cheap workbench.
How about a simple 12" - 18" bar clamp with a 3/4" rail slipped through my workbench top?

    Thumbs up

You are on the right track Woodhog!

I have a couple of holes - cut with a hole saw - in my bench. Just use an "F"clamp as the hold down.
