I'm a stay at home dad so I can often log on during the day when the kids aren't being too demanding.

my employer allows us to have un-limited internet access during our work hours. The only stipulations are: all work is to be completed and all issues delt with, and we can not log on to www.nakedcathoilcschoolgirls.com (no it is NOT a real site, just for those who may be tempted to look) and sites of that kind.

Initally they said NO , untill I pointed out that THIS was my favourite site

Self employment has a lot going fot it.

Including the ability to have a quick browse when a few free minutes present themselves. A smoke, a cuppa and a modem. What better way to spend a smoko?

I work for a large corporate, and whilst company policy says that Internet access should be limited to work-related matters, in practice there is a reasonable amount of latitude given, provided that one does not abuse it - and that deadlines aren't missed because of any sloping off to the 'net for a happy hour

I have an extra excuse...
Different time zone.

Of course being self employed helps, and running a computer help desk, where sometimes you just have to look at the screen and wait for the phone to ring helps too.

I'm a home dad about 2 days a week, so the same with me. But often, I get on to read a post and have to take off again before I can answer.

I work 3 or 4 shifts a week as well. Changes every month. Mostly night shifts.

I don't feel that I have a need to justify my online time when I'm at work.

Internet access is a fundamental necessity of my job.

So the fact that I keep a U-Beaut tab open in the browser is neither here nor there.

Rest assured, if my employer thought it was a problem they'd block my access.

Mind you, I'm not about to try and access a site or something equally dodgy when I'm at work.

In fact, when members post links to risque sites, I'll wait 'till I get home before I'll think about having a look.
