Thread: Stealing from demonstrators - Dog act.

Just read Stu's blog post, what a low act. Stu gives us all so much through his blog, posts and videos cant believe anyone would stoop so low.

I have never had a problem letting other formites or woodworkers come to my little workshop but after reading posts like this I am inclined to keep the workshop to myself .

Anyway Chin-up Stu, dont leg one bad egg stop all the good your doing. Hopefully the missing bits find their way back to you....

joez, you cant let the actions of one clown keep visitors out of your workshop. Its a bummer, but the majority of us are honest woodies.

I really have to second what Lignum has written.

I was there today and everyone was relaxed and in a cheerful mood. There was plenty of stock there and all the exhibitors let everyone touch, look and pick-up.

I sincerely hope this doesn't change how these events are presented in the future. Such a low, low act. Heinous even.

Sad news indeed. There is always an element hoping to benefit at someone else's expense.

Scum. And probably lucky scum, getting caught might have been a very bad experience for them.

was there on friday had a good chinwag with several demonstrators picked up and looked at quite a few bits and pieces never gave security a single thought .
really hope this doesnt change the nature of the event
I may not have bought this time from these suppliers (still in trouble from the TWWWS)but will probably buy something through the year
look forward to next years event

Sorry to hear of this Stu,. It is bad enough that it should happen to anybody but for it to happen to such a generous person is about as low os it can get.

Perhaps visitors should have to sign in as they arrive. Pity if it came to that as 99.9 per cent are honest citizens

I was too P'dd off yesterday to raise this issue, however a nights sleep hasn't helped.

All of the suppliers at the open days took a relaxed approach, talking, demonstrating and entertaining people who we considered to be our guests, in away we treated the Braeside premises as our own lounge room, figuring that if you have guests you don't have to bolt the furniture down!!

The participants at the event will have our usual 'post mortem' which usually involves working out how we can make things better for our guests, next time, however, regrettably, we will have to add security to the agenda, How sad will it be if demonstrators like; Stuart, Terry, Morrie & Ern have to stop and lock tools away mid demo???

That said, we (PWS) will make sure that Stu isn't in anyway out of pocket by this mongrel act. Even though we to appear to have lost a couple of Whiteside Inlay Kits.

We really hope that the 'honest' guests that made up 99.9999% of the visitors enjoyed themselves as we did, meeting, greeting and of course selling.

Well, I for one hope that the dirty, thieving, rotten gutter scum that clearly thought he or she was just that little bit more special than the rest of society has befall them much negative karma. These sort of oxygen thieves unfortunately succeed only in destroying peoples faith in human nature. Their time will come, it always does. More fool them for it is they that will suffer in the long term.

I did enjoy myself when I was there on Friday morning. When I was talking to Stu before the first demo I saw some router bits on the bench next to him and they must have been the ones the B*****d took.

Would hate to think that this low act might affect the way these open days are held for I really enjoyed it.

I was letting people use my personal stuff and then going off for a few secs to talk to others and i felt at ease. Next time i will have to re think that. Who knows, the dog might have been a blow in for the free feed, and taken the opportunity to strike. I still trust woodies, so it will be hard change ways
