Interesting. I think I can make out "LOCK TOOL CO AUST" on the door of the base, and the other side there is a nice winged LT logo.

From home to Shep with one car and trailer, Shep to big smoke with both cars and trailer, home with same plus mill. I am about to look at distance involved and start scratching my head to get ideas LOL. My problem is SWMBO will not drive in Melbourne, period, and has trouble with long drives due to health. May be better to stay overnight somewhere that has lots of parking space.

    Overpriced?

I know little about sheet metal benders, although I doubt this would do 2mm over 1800mm

That would depend on what they were bending.

Default Russian lathe for sale in Adelaide

I see this little Russian lathe is currently for sale on Gumtree.

exocut metal lathe | Tools & DIY | Gumtree Australia Morphett Vale Area - Aberfoyle Park

Very interesting little unit from the Eastern bloc.

This one is a bit tatty, but I was sorely tempted to buy one that was for sale at Murray Bridge a couple of years back - it was complete and had the full export kit of vertical mill slide and various other accessories in the original wooden box (everything is painted blue with these, even the box).

The Koreans copied and upgraded it slightly and now sell it as the BV15.

I think the MB one went for about $500 from memory. Should have bought it. The UK lathe site has quite a bit of info on them.

Some of the Russian stuff is pretty interesting gear.

    Cheers

    Rob

Can anyone explain what part of this Lathe is similar to a Hercus, as stated in the ad title.

Hercus made a small CNC lathe primarily intended for training purposes etc. Model was PC200, similar capacity and purpose to the small boxford referenced.
