It can do internal and external grinding depending on how it is set up.

    You sure about that?
Like mine, it doesnt seem to have any U axis other than the eccentric.
So while mine can do external grinding, its just a tad limited, with a 0.040" wheel I can external grinder anything up to 0.060"

At least as I understand it, hopefully I'm wrong.

Well , you may be right Stuart, the machine shown is a bit small. We had a larger version (Heald) in the machine shop at TAA/Australian Airlines that we used for external as well as internal grinding. Ansett had one as well.

There is a New Visby on gumtree in victoria . Don't know how to up load it on here.2500 appears to be ok good old hack clunker for some one good for a days work always. John.ps by the look of the Purcell name and date on casting on the motor acces door is a late wartime machine maybe due to pattern wear.fudgy clarity in door casting.

A new thread to replace this one has been opened in the link below:

eBay (and other auctions) Metalwork Stuff Part II.

The forum titled EBAY, GUMTREE, AMAZON (and other sale sites) Metalwork ONLYwill continue on as it is, at least for now, so take your pick as to which you use.

    Cheers - Neil
