    Would love to help but I'd need more then a general photo. Close up, end grain, any information on it. Otherwise the safe bet is, yes, it's timber!

    How wide is it? Can you wet a patch of wood before taking your next photo. Any idea of the area it might have been sourced?

    The slab is 1200 long by 600 wide. I have no idea where it came from. Has almost a meranti look and texture to it.

    This is a total guess - Flooded Gum (E. Grandis).
