Yet another What timber question
I had a dead tree on my property that had to come down. Since it is dead, I don't know what the foliage was like. There was bark but not like a stringy bark or iron bark. There are quite a few blackbutt, tallow and terpentine on the property which is located in the Sunshine Coast, QLD. Here are some photos of the wood. Below should be 2 photos showing an end-grain cut and 1 photo showing 2 pieces flat sawn. So, what do you think it is?

Reasonably hard but not nearly as hard as ironbark. From my limited experience, I'd think it was not as hard as spotted gum. There is a smell but nothing I can distinguish and not strong or distinct. The tree had a base diameter of about 600mm and was a very straight trunk.
