    Default Dremel attachments

I have an older Dremel that only does 10k. rpm. max.

I am wondering how effective the attachments, such as the router base, would be with this tool.

Does anyone have the little drill press?? If so how good is it?

    Many thanks, artme.

    G'Day Arthur,
I have a Dremel 3000 in a Dremel Router Table with a 1/8" round-over bit for clearing up the edges of the toys; works well...
    Cheers, crowie

PS - Thre bloke who I think has a Dremel Drill Press is Ray [aka silverlux] for his toymaking/model making......

I have a Dremel drill press that I bought 6 or so years ago and I don't know wether there has been an upgrade but I found the clamping system had too much flex in it to make it an accurate tool.

I recently bought the Dremel drill press as part of a Dremel 'package'. The moulded part that held the Dremel was so 'off centre' that it was impossible to accurately place the Dremel tip on the workpiece. The vendor accepted it back and credited 30.00 for that part of the package. Since it's a moulded part it's unlikely that the one I received was a flawed one. They'd likely all be identical.

I looked on-line and found many complaints about them.

There are jeweller's drill presses around that would undoubtably be more accurate. Here's one.

I haven't used one so can't comment from personal experience. Jen

I bought the drill press years ago when I bought my first Dremel and I can count the number of times I used it on the fingers of less than one hand.

I tried to use it once but found the same issues as every one else.

I have the router attachment and ditto. Veritas now do a router attachment and it looks rather nice. Almost tempted.

Just had a look at the Veritas info:
New Veritas Rotary Tool Router Plunge Base

And what looks like a StewMac knockoff on Amazon:

Precision Router Base - Support for Dremel tool. - - Amazon.com.

I have the Dremel base but haven't used it enough to know if it's my ineptitude or the base's shortcomings so I'll wait before I comment on it. I probably need a different bit, also. Jen
