What to plant
The sewage waste water area on my block was a mess when we moved here 4 years ago and I have gradually cleaned it up and planted more
"stuff". I am a bromeliad fan and have quite a number of those plus cordilynes,Cape York lillies, native ginger, Clivias, succulents, agapanthus,
Yuccas, crotons ( not going so well for some reason ), agave, aloe vera and of couple of waifs and strays like the rescued cycad that finally
looks as if it is coming back to life.
There a re Lilly pilly trees, triangle palms, a couple of bangalows. a quinquinerva and a Pinciana plante a couple of years ago and doing very well.
I am encouraging shade because the afternoon sun can get pretty fierce. to this end I planted the Poinciana but also planted a couple of jacarandas
Outside the boundary of the treatment area.
I recently acquired some pool filters which I have set up as planting pots. Two are the spherical kind - one about a metre, the other a bit less.
The others are cylindrical and of varying lenghths. I have grouped these in threes with the tallest of the pots in each group to the back. These
pots rang in height from about 1.5M down to 600mm.
I am wonder what to plant in them bearing in mind that the sphericals will support a large rootball and that I would like some plants that will cascade
down the side of the taller pots.
Any suggestions appreciated>

Well ihave filled the new Pots but still have not decided what to plant. I like your suggestion Huon And I will
have a look for some of that. Ginger is out even though I love the stuphph!!. I have to avoid it due to blood
pressure.
I have spent a bit of time down the "garden" lately and was surprised at how much growth has occurred. The
broms have mulyiplied but a few have croaked.. The ficus Benjamina, and poinciana are going gangbusters as are
some of the other trees. This is providing good shade, whic is what I was after.
When I get a bit more organized to do more - we have a very heavy October schedule of friends visiting - I will see
If I can get some more filters and make use of them.
