The bearings you mentioned in relation to babbit, crankshafts and turbines are known in the trade as friction bearings, well, because they exhibit frictional qualities, not something you would like to have when trying to achieve perpetual motion

oh James, it's all a matter of perspective.

I could claim all sorts of things denigrating the citizens of the Etats-Unis, but where would the fun be in that.
So how about I just refer you to the movie Crocodile Dundee -- "That's not a knife, THIS is a knife!"

James has been banned from Woodwork Forums for continually mentioning a member of another forum(s) and continuing to attach screen shots from another forum as well as a private message private message. He was warned a number of times not to do this and was given a number of chances to continue on as a member of Woodwork Forums but he blatantly ignored those warnings and continued on with the same thing.

I bent over backwards to help him out but I can't and won't help those who won't help themselves.

Pity he continued to blatantly ignore the the warnings because the rest of what he was posting was of interest to a number of members.

Some of James's posts in this thread have been deleted as they had nothing to do with the thread and some were personal unrelated attacks on a member of another forum brought across to here and completely out of context here.
