"Loch Ness Monster" - The truth !
This new project is a commission from someone who saw a computer animation some time ago on the internet and liked it enough to want to see it come to life. I have a basic problem with copying something, so agreed to do it provided that only the concept remains, not the details of the original. So as not give the joke away, this post will avoid giving to many clues which might be accurately guessed by sharp eyed members, (eg Peter the Crowie) ....
Attached are four images which show the commencement of this automaton.
Front.jpg
The shell is made from two light fittings, cut and glued to form a large enough space

Rear of the shell
Casting frame.jpg
The frame will be filled with casting resin to give strength to the structure,
Completed.jpg
and the back panel which will support mechanisms completes the initial work.
Apologies for the secrecy,
Gus

There are three characters in the story. carved from radiata pine, not a good medium, (needed strength for legs and arms which have movable joints).
Attachment 406887
The movements will be operated by small gears,
Attachment 406893
Which will be controlled by the main input gears, and other functions by a cam.

Mechanicals to control other functions, assembly of the characters will be next.
Thanks for looking,

I think you've got it the wrong way round Crowie. 3 men operating a mechanical Nessie is my guess.
Those were the droids I was looking for.
