L.s barker band saw help
Hey guys,
I’m in need of some help to finish my barker band saw, it’s a bsb27. I received the bandsaw with the table off of it and now just putting it back on have realised I am missing the piece with the handle on it which locks the table tilt in position. I am hoping someone on here has has one that’s willing to measure it up for me so I can make a pattern and have one cast up so I can get this saw going

Nice saw these.
Camoz has one but he’s not been active on here in ages.
If you ever get to Brisbane the Furniture/maker/teacher Richard Vaughan has one of these saws.
Hes very busy so I’m not volunteering him to measure bits up for you but if you give hin a call he may be willing to let you if your in the area.

Cheers for that mate, shame to here camoz isn’t active anymore I’ve seen a fair few things I’d love to chat to him about on machines he has. Also Matty has tracked me down someone who had one to take a few pics, just waiting to here back on some measurements. But thanks for your help mate

I also see you’ve got a rs build in the process very very jealous. We have one at work in the patternshop with all the fruit. You wouldn’t happen to be the mythical member Vann mentioned that has 2 of these ?

That’s Cam.
I asked him if he wanted to sell one a while back for a mate and he said he’d think about it but he never contacted my mate so I’d say he’s not interested in selling atm.
There were 2 sold at Kynton about 6 months back.
Another from Sydney a year back.
They do turn up.
Is the foundry at Maryborough still operating?

Just somethings you wanna hold onto and those lathes are a good piece. Yer mate it’s still operating under Cqms Razer, we generally make dragline buckets and excavator lips but lately we’ve been branching back out to general castings like big sheaves and agitators for the lime place up in Gladstone

Hey all,
Sorry I haven't been posting lately, my health has been really good, which is good news, but it means I have been working a lot, and catching up on things at home (anyway enough for the excuses ).
I went to get some measurements, but decided probably the better idea due to the shape was to trace it and post you the sheet.
I'm not sure if a PM will work, so perhaps if you could send your address to Matty, I can post you the tracing.
Attached are some pictures to give you an indication of the shape and what angle each tracing is from.
let me know if you would just prefer some measurements and I will try to give a rough indication, but not the shape makes it difficult.
cheers,
camo

Hey Henry,
Hope your doing well, I have been meaning to try and contact you, but I have lost your number with changing over to a new phone.
if you've got my number can you send me a txt, or call me, I'm going to Canada in a week and wanted to pick your brain on some travel tips. I'm on holidays at the moment so I should be available any time for the next week.
cheers,
camo
P.S. Patternmaker10, sorry for going off topic with this post

I may well have something in the stash that will work if the end was modded.
I’ll dig it out and post a pic tomorrow.
Cam, I’ll give you a call tomorrow, glad to hear your ok.

Ive no idea what it’s off but if you can use it it’s yours for postage.

That looks to be off a Wadkin. There are at least two of those on a CK radio alarm saw (maybe three?), but no doubt they are used on other Wadkin models too.

Thanks for your offer Henry, I’ll give making one a crack first, give me something to tinker around on, as I’ve jus been offered a great opportunity to leave the patternshop and drive dump trucks out the mines, so give me something to keep my skills in check. Same with the 1/2 inch nut I’ve got the fitters at work making me one with a milled spanner groove for ease of removal.
Also completely off topic, but in the near future, I’m looking at making a set of bobbin patterns that will suit the jy or the combo jt machine for the ones I’m missing, and if there’s any interest in any other sizes, it’ll only cost you the casting costs
Cheers Tyler
