    Default Buzzer versus Bench Saw

There's been a rift in the universe. World order is crumbling.

A Wadkin RB (9") buzzer sold this week in the UK for MORE (yes, more) than a Wadkin PK .

What's more, the PK had it's crown guard AND both halves of the mitre.

I fell orf me perch I tell ya .

    Wadkin RB £672.00 ($1179.50 AUD) https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Wadkin-9...19.m1438.l2649

    Wadkin PK £540.00 ($947.81 AUD) https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Wadkin-S...19.m1438.l2649

Excuse my ignorance. What's the difference between a bench saw and a table saw?

Nice early PK (~mid-late 1930s). Shame there's not more info with the advert.

I should have called it a dimension saw, but I was making like a newspaper headline writer (where catchy headlines are more important than content ) and Benchsaw went well with Buzzer .

A table saw has a sliding table. A bench doesn't. There are nuances in the differing types of table saw and the differing types of bench saw but table vs bench is as simple as that.

I'm sorry but that sort of distinction is not accurate
There are thousands of table saws made without sliding tables every year there always have been.
The sliding table is a variation on the traditional table saw.
The early British and American table saws that had sliding tables were sometimes called dimension or variety saws but they were still considered table saws.
Some of the earliest manufacturers like Ransome in the UK and American in the US had sliding table options prior to 1900.

    Have fun,

Nice saw, that one only has the front half of the quadrant, the one on Ebay had both parts which makes it pretty unusual. Some people would give valuable parts of their anatomy for them!

    Have fun,
