If you don't have the "save copy of sent messages in my sent items folder" option ticked you won't see a sent message.

    Stewart,
Funds are a bit tight for me right now until I complete another project, so unfortunately I won't be purchasing a pair right now. Hopefully Mike will still have some left in a few months time.

Thanks for organising this with Mike.

i have just fitted mine and made couple of quick test cuts. I'll post photos asap tomorrow.
    Including the blades I used.
I'll keep the originals for unpinned blades if I need to use them.

I just finished painting mine on the weekend so will be putting it back together in the next couple of weeks!

NICE JOB. YOU REALLY NEED THE SHINY NEW BLADE HOLDERS.....
Yep blade change now a breeze.
But I have a stack of fine pinless blades to use up too.
    So now very versatile..

    Here's one I prepared earlier....
    Picture 007.jpgPicture 007.jpg

I sold the machine years ago as I found it wasn't suitable for running very fine blades, something with parallel arms is the go for that. The spring return above doesn't like high speeds as the spring cannot keep up with pulling the blade above the work again (especially when cutting and it binds a little) so the blade pushes up from below regardless and bends/breaks. Same with smaller blades at lower speeds, it's still not happy.
I like the blade holding mods, I only ever used it with it's original double bolted holders, not great but they worked, plus one doesn't need a pinned blade. These machines are beautiful, and very good for cutting large fretwork with say some 1/8", 3/16 or even 1/4" chunk of bandsaw blade in there.
Good luck with it. Great work! Nice to see this happening.

It looks awesome! Did you ever try and get the blower working? I like the pin stripes ! You have set the benchmark in scroll saw restoration !

    Default Gearbox bearings and slides

I purchased a Woodfast version of these which looks the same. As I understand it, everything including Hyco parts and dies ended up with Woolfenden Machinery which closed a few years ago.

All the bearings and slides including stepped bearings in the gearbox are standard imperial size sintered bronze bearings. There used to be a sintered bearing manufacturer in Sydney but it is now closed. The last one is in Melbourne. Google 'sintered bronze' to find it.

The gearbox is oil filled and not filled with grease.
