Default Mystery Wadkin parts. Help needed

    Wood evening fellow woodsman.

I recently purchased a Wadkin WX pattern Miller but until some weeks ago it has been in disassembled and in storage.

I have been going through the cabinet of tooling that came with the machine, cleaning all of the various cutters and holders in an electrolysis bath and there are a few components that I have come across that have me completely baffled as the their use. I was hoping that someone on this forum could shed some light on what these pieces are and their use.

If anyone can help please chime in.

    Hi Scamp,

The plate marked 508 is a tool holder for the cutter shaft 507.
The brass piece I think is a ringing, possibly a counter balance for one of the other cutters..
The 2 cast pieces appear to be stops of some sort.

The other slotted piece is probably a shop made tool holder as well if it doesn't have a number. I can't see it in the tool catalogue.

I have a copy of the tool catalogue which list all the available tooling for the mills if you would like a copy.

    Have fun,
    Alli

Hi Alli. Thanks for the response. I too think the smaller plate is a shop made version of the bigger plate as It has no numbers stamped on it.

If I could please have a copy of the tool catalogue that would be amazing. Thanks. Do you have an operations manual too? There are still many, many questions I need answers to! Thankyou so much

It is also possible I guess that this larger cast stop is from another Wadkin machine as this pattern mill came from the Toowoomba foundry and I recall seeing a Wadkin PK and a Wadkin RS in the same workshop.

    Hi Scamp,
I checked the catalogue again and this cast parts are from an adjustable depth gauge, part no WH517.

If you send me a PM with an email address I can send you the pics I took of the catalogue. It's 15 images and I think you would lose too much detail if I reduced them to post here.
I might try a few later to see.

Did you get the revoluble head with yours?

    Have fun,
    Alli

Thanks jack. I have been trying to contact him through instagramo and email but i am not getting any response. I see they posted a picture of the operations manual on Instagram. It would be great to get a copy of it. The manual I have is more of a sales catalogue that tells you what the machine can do and lists some of the various cutters. The operations manual is the one I am after. Any help would be amazing.
