I've found a local company with plenty of experience welding/brazing cast iron. I want to table restored but have decided against trying it myself. Need that done before any powder-coating.
Will hear back after the Xmas break and will also get the plate surface ground prior to paint

A pair of Waldown drill presses
Welding all done. I still need to clean the face and machine the slots again but making progress. Much better Han it used to be!

Just won a Waldown vice on eBay to go with the drill presses. Apparently in excellent condition.
Will probably paint it to match the drill.
Very pleased!

A pair of Waldown drill presses
Vice arrived today. While it doesn't look it in the pic it's almost brand new. I cleaned off the surface rust and the painted surfaces are in great condition. It will not require any touching up at all!
This will go perfectly with my drill with the t-slot table.
I'll post a pic of it tomorrow. Forgot to take one in my excitement.

I didn't weld it... I wasn't game. I got a welder to do it for me. I'm going to get some knackered cast iron at some point and learn how though. Didn't sound too hard... Preheat, weld, pein, repeat. I can ask what rods he used though
