Started stripping down 424 over the weekend...a couple of discoveries.... the pulley on the scroll saw is original and stamped P McManus centre painted green to match the green on the plaque.... also had to rethink what I was going to with belt cover.....while cleaning it down discovered remnants of green paint on the fins... I think from this I think it was originally painted black with green fins...will paint it that way and see what it looks like anyway. It’s certainly hard work cleaning it down...the red lead and black paint just doesn’t budge and paint stripper does nothing....just scrape and grind...I’ll get some shots up when everything is painted up.

    Hi GAza,
I think the bench saw 'without serial nos' is the one I bought- deceased estate via TTTG.
Cute ting, still haven't got it running yet (to make a bespoke portable stand for it)....
I have dabbled in the TROVE resource a bit and the phone number (XB2742 appears many times from 1943 to the limits of Sydney Morning Herald scans, 1954.
Location was 23- 29 Lord Street, North Sydney.
Further searching with this may come up with more.
    cheers,
    AndrewOC
